MBBS, MS(Orth), MRCS, FRCS(Orth)
I am a fellowship trained Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon and an expert in hip replacement surgery. Since my appointment as a consultant in 2018, I have developed extensive experience in performing primary total hip replacements as well as complex and revision total hip replacements along with specialist hip and knee trauma.
I specialise in primary total hip replacements, specialist hip trauma and hip injections. I have a special interest in complex and revision hip and knee replacements for failed primary joints, and regularly get referrals from colleagues for these complex cases.
I’m currently the lead clinician for the revision hip and knee replacement services at my base hospital and also lead the revision knee arthroplasty service in Betsi Cadwaladr University Health Board.
Alongside my clinical practice, I’m actively involved in education and training of junior doctors and medical students. I’m the central assessor for Swansea medical students.
I’m very keen on the development of my specialty and continue to explore new ways to improve patient care and outcomes. I serve as a Specialist Advisor for the Royal College of Surgeons of England for their orthopaedic update service.
I’m committed to delivering high quality patient centred care. I believe in listening carefully to each patient, understanding their needs and working with them to choose the most appropriate, evidenced-based treatment option. Meticulous attention to details and fully involving patients in every stage of their journey remain at the heart of my practice.
